9 + inches....

Now that I have your attention...ha ha ha. So, we have had quite the weather here. It has been snowing on and off for the past week. Yesterday it snowed about 10-12 inches here at our house. Then last night we got about an inch of ice. Now it is snowing again. The county I live in has made it a requirement that you drive with chains or studs. We have neither. We get to stay home. Payton has gone out a couple of times to play in the snow. We bought him some snow clothes finally and he is much warmer that way! But we don't have a sled or anything so it comes down to building a snow man. Yesterday the snow was like powder so it was too hard to make a snowman. We may try again tomorrow.

We did venture out yesterday for our neice's, Brianna, birthday. We met up with sister in law, mother in law and Grandma Kathy (Peters mom) for lunch at Red Robin. It was before the chain requirement was in effect but it was terrible driving conditions and we were glad that we got home when we did. But we had fun while we were there. Let me just say that it does not matter where I go with Aaron, we always seem to run into one person we know or knew. This time as we were getting seated, I hear someone calling for Aaron. Turns out it is a friend that he knew from grade school and junior high. I can't believe that they recognized each other. Weird!! I don't know that any of my old friends would recognize me. lol. Then as we were leaving the restaurant we ran into Shaun Hauser. He is like family to us but we don't get to see him often enough as he works some crazy hours.

Well, that is all of the exciting news that I have for now. Be back soon!

It is snowing in Beaverton, Oregon!!

The world stops when it snows in the cities of NW Oregon. School is out. Stores at the mall close down. People shop until the shelves at the grocery store are bare. You would think that we will all be stuck in our homes for weeks on end. But I should be honest here, I hate being outside when it snows. I have the benefit of working from home and since Payton has no school, I don't HAVE to be outside. Therefore, it does not affect me like it does most people. Even Aaron has to brave his way to work unless they decide to shutdown. I feel bad for the people who have to drive in this mess. Snow, then frozen ice, and now we will have more snow. Bleh!!!

Payton is starting to get cabin fever. We ventured to the store to mail out a package yesterday just so we could get away from the house for a few minutes. The child is not lacking in the stuff to do department. He has a closet filled with games and arts and crafts, plus a room full of too many toys, not to mention all of the video games he has and yet.....he is driving me nutty. As I type this he is talking to me non stop!!! I love him.

Audrey is just as happy as always. Actually, probably a little happier since big brother is home. She just loves him so much. Everytime he is around she just smiles and laughs at his antics. So cute.

As for me, I should be working. On that note.......

The beginning

I have decided that it is way past time to start blogging. I can't think of a much better way to keep everyone informed other than snail mail...and who really wants to do that anymore. So here it begins. I am hardly a creative writer so you will get me, which is all over the place. But at least you will have a general idea of how we are doing. And an occasional picture may appear. I hope that everyone enjoys and chimes in from time to time.
